For more than 30 years, Ohio artist Marilyn Shaker has been passionate about painting. Before she even picked up a brush she was sharing her love and appreciation of nature with her five children. The light, color and composition in nature offers the widest spectrum allowing her the opportunity and freedom of expression. Marilyn’s work captures the vibrancy of nature. Her art captures the subtle layers of depth, the changing hues of color; designed to lift your spirit beyond what the eye sees. Art that stirs the senses to a richer experience and challenges the viewer to experience the moment.
Early on Marilyn trained at the Cleveland Institute of Art. She continued to study under notable painters and institutions, including The Cleveland Museum of Art, The Lighthouse School of Art, and others. She attributes much of her inspiration to her long time mentor Charles Gruppe of the world renowned Gruppe Family of artists. Marilyn’s work has been represented by many fine galleries on the east coast, and distinguished with notable awards in numerous juried shows. From commissioned, private collections to corporate headquarters and professional spaces, Marilyn’s work is appreciated by art lovers and collectors alike. Now a great grandmother, she is still actively pursuing her passion of painting.
