
Venue Rules for exhibiting your work

Any member of the Geauga Arts Council may apply to exhibit his or her work through Art in the Mart.

You will be contacted when an opportunity arises at any of the venues.

You will be expected to hang your own pieces with the help and direction of the venue coordinator.
Signing up:

Any active member of the Geauga Arts Council may apply to exhibit his or her work in our program.

Prepare your Art:

Most venues are unable to take three-dimensional art at this time.

Hanging art MUST be secure in a frame or gallery-wrapped canvas, and with a wire hanger.

All art should be clean and in the best condition possible, including frames.

All art is required to have the artist's name and piece title somewhere on it. Preferably on a label affixed to the back of the piece.

You will fill out a form that listsyour name, all artwork titles, mediums and sale prices.

The Council will prepare tags that will be affixed to the wall with a non-damaging product. To the lower right if possible.

Individual items may be excluded at the discretion of the Council or the venue.

No image should violate any copyright laws.

You will be notified if there are any additional restrictions at any venue.

Hanging your Art:
-
There are no hanging supplies available at the venue, and your work may be refused if not wired or secure.

We will work with you to arrange with the Venue Coordinator for a time that is convenient for install.

You or someone you designate MUST deliver your art at the day, time and location specified.

Whenever possible, The Venue will host an opening reception at the start of a new exhibition. Details will be arranged between the Artist and the Venue Coordinator.

Artwork will be on display a minimum of three (3) months.

Following the exhibit you will be responsible for taking down your work on the day and time specified with the Venue Coordinator.

Sale of your Art:

At least 75% of your pieces entered must be offered as For Sale.

The Venue does not handle the sales.

Show tags will display a link to the Arts Council website where sales can be completed online. A phone number may also be provided for the Council to handle the sales.

The item will stay on display until the end of the show and may then be delivered by you to the purchaser. Sold items will be clearly marked.

If delivery is not pre-arranged, pickup dates and times will be arranged following the online purchase, artwork can be picked up at a mutually agreed upon public location.

The Artist receives 70% of any sale, the Council 30%.

Online sales fees will be deducted prior to payout totals being calculated. Please price your work with these points in mind.
