Geauga Council for Arts and Culture hosts 9th Ovations! Awards Ceremony

Ovations! A “Tony Awards” type ceremony for Geauga County High School Musicals was held Monday, May 7 @ 8:00 PM at the  Geauga Theatre on Chardon Square. Local high schools have recently finished their spring musicals and this night is meant to promote and honor these high school thespians.

Four well-respected theatre professionals served as judges for all six shows, choosing a “best” in multiple categories from Best Vocalist to Best Costume Design.  Winners were given trophies and applause from their peers.  Each school shared a song from their production and the evening was topped off with cake and coffee for the students, their parents, and their teachers.

The Geauga Council for Arts and Culture sees this as an important part of its mission to promote the arts in our community and to recognize these young artists for their hard work and dedication.
